We have all been led to believe that working a 9-to-5 job and investing into a 401(k) will bring us financial freedom in retirement. What this really does it destine us to a lifetime of labor that gets more difficult to escape the older we get.

Money in business is like gas in your car. You need to pay attention so you don’t end up on the side of the ride. But your trip is not a tour of gas stations.

This is a great quote that sums up the concept of financial freedom. We build wealth through real estate investing in order to spend more time doing the things we love (family, friends, travel, leisure, etc.). Money/wealth is the means by which we achieve this, but it is not the main focus.
